at Vinyasa functions as a collaborative exchange\, and contributions will be shaped based on the artist’s discipline\, strengths\, and the evolving needs of the space. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhile the exact nature of engagement will be discussed and mutually aligned over a call prior to final selection\, a tentative framework is outlined below: \n\n\n\n\nArtists are expected to offer consistent\, accessible engagements for the community. For example: A yoga practitioner may offer a daily 30-minute open session\, accessible to everyone present at Vinyasa.\n\n\n\nAdditionally\, artists will curate a deeper weekly or weekend offering\, such as:\n\nA 45–60 minute curated session\n\n\n\nA themed workshop or immersive practice\n\n\n\n\n\nThese offerings are intended to build rhythm\, community participation\, and shared experience within the space.\n\n\n\n\nIndependent Offerings & Revenue Sharing\n\n\n\nAs the residency does not include a stipend\, artists are encouraged to design and host their own paid offerings\, such as: \n\n\n\n\nWorkshops\n\n\n\nMasterclasses\n\n\n\nPrivate sessions\n\n\n\nSpecialized experiences\n\n\n\n\nThese will operate on a revenue-sharing model\, with a 60–40 split (Artist–Vinyasa). \n\n\n\nThis structure allows artists to sustain themselves financially while deepening their engagement with their practice and audience. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nResearch Documentation & Submission\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe residency places strong emphasis on rigorous documentation and knowledge creation. \n\n\n\nArtists are required to: \n\n\n\n\nDevelop their research into a well-structured white paper or research document\n\n\n\nMaintain consistent documentation throughout the residency period\n\n\n\nSubmit their work in phases\, aligned with their proposed timeline\n\n\n\n\nDocumentation may include:\n\n\n\n\nWritten reflections and analytical notes\n\n\n\nProcess journals\n\n\n\nVisual documentation (photo/video)\n\n\n\nInterviews\, observations\, or community interactions\n\n\n\nPractice-based insights and findings\n\n\n\n\nFinal Submission Format\n\n\n\nThe final output must take the form of a comprehensive research document\, clearly articulating: \n\n\n\n\nResearch intent and context\n\n\n\nMethodology and process\n\n\n\nKey observations and learnings\n\n\n\nEvolution of practice\n\n\n\nFinal outcomes or propositions\n\n\n\n\nThis document will become part of the Vinyasa Archive\, contributing to a growing body of practice-led research emerging from the space. \n\n\n\nApply\nApply for the SUMMARY:The Pause Within
DESCRIPTION:A two-night\, two-day residential retreat with Nikita ChawdaVinyasa Earth\, Jaipur \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe all experience stress differently. \n\n\n\nFor some\, the body speeds up. For some\, everything begins to feel overwhelming. For others\, the body becomes quiet\, tired or numb. Often\, we continue pushing through without understanding what these experiences are trying to tell us. \n\n\n\nThe Pause Within is an invitation to slow down and become curious about how stress\, emotions\, tension\, overwhelm\, disconnection and the need for rest show up in our everyday lives. \n\n\n\nThis is not a retreat about eliminating stress or achieving a particular state of calm. It is an exploration of our relationship with stress—an opportunity to recognise our patterns\, understand our signals and discover what helps us feel supported. \n\n\n\nPart of The Collective Body \n\n\n\nThe Pause Within is being offered as part of Vinyasa Earth’s Artist-in-Residence Program. \n\n\n\nDuring her three-month residency at Vinyasa\, Nikita is conducting a research project titled The Collective Body — Moving Through Stress\, Trauma and Shame. The project explores how we experience stress\, trauma and shame\, and how somatic practices may help us build a more supportive relationship with ourselves. \n\n\n\nAs part of the retreat\, participants will be required to complete a short survey before and after the experience. The surveys will ask about their stress levels and their sense of safety within the body\, helping support Nikita’s ongoing research. \n\n\n\nFurther information about the use of survey responses will be shared with participants before their consent is taken. \n\n\n\nWhat We Will Explore \n\n\n\nOver these two days\, we will explore: \n\n\n\n\nHow we recognise when stress is building\n\n\n\nHow emotions show up physically\n\n\n\nWhat helps us feel more settled and supported\n\n\n\nHow to notice when we are doing too much\n\n\n\nHow to pause before reacting automatically\n\n\n\nHow to remain connected to ourselves during difficult moments\n\n\n\nSimple practices that can support us in everyday life\n\n\n\n\nThe retreat is experiential and rooted in curiosity. There is no particular state to achieve and no single correct way to experience it. \n\n\n\nWho Is This Retreat For? \n\n\n\nThe Pause Within may be meaningful for you if you: \n\n\n\n\nFind it difficult to slow down or switch off\n\n\n\nKeep going even when you feel tired\n\n\n\nOften feel overwhelmed\, restless\, disconnected or numb\n\n\n\nNotice emotions showing up as tension\, heaviness or fatigue\n\n\n\nReact before having time to understand what is happening\n\n\n\nWant to understand your patterns around stress\n\n\n\nAre curious about somatics\, body awareness or nervous-system work\n\n\n\nSimply want two days to pause and listen to yourself\n\n\n\n\nNo previous experience with somatic or body-based practices is required. \n\n\n\nWhat You May Take Back \n\n\n\nRather than offering a fixed solution\, the retreat may help you develop: \n\n\n\n\nA clearer understanding of your stress responses\n\n\n\nGreater awareness of what supports you\n\n\n\nMore space between what you feel and what you do next\n\n\n\nA more compassionate relationship with yourself\n\n\n\nSimple practices that can continue beyond the retreat\n\n\n\n\nAbout Nikita\n\n\n\nNikita Chawda is a somatic therapist and Play Movement Educator who brings together different somatic modalities in her work with adults navigating trauma\, stress and shame. \n\n\n\nHer approach is not about fixing\, changing or controlling the body and mind. Instead\, she creates the time\, space and support needed to meet ourselves where we are and reconnect with the vitality and aliveness within us. \n\n\n\nNikita believes that our bodies carry their own resilience\, medicine and intelligence. By learning to listen to this intelligence\, we can come closer to our authentic selves and allow our expression to find belonging—within us and in the world around us. \n\n\n\nRetreat Passes \n\n\n\nComplete Retreat Pass — ₹4\,999 \n\n\n\nIncludes the two-night stay\, food and retreat facilitation. \n\n\n\nStay & Retreat Pass — ₹2\,499 \n\n\n\nIncludes the two-night stay and retreat facilitation. Meals can be ordered separately according to your preference. \n\n\n\nCommunity Pass — ₹1\,800 \n\n\n\nAvailable for members of the Vinyasa community. Includes stay and food. \n\n\n\nRetreat Details \n\n\n\nDates: 18–20 September 2026Duration: Two nights and two daysFacilitator: Nikita ChawdaVenue: Vinyasa Earth\, Jaipur \n\n\n\nCome with curiosity. There is nothing to fix and nowhere particular to arrive—only an opportunity to pause\, notice and understand yourself a little more closely. \n\n\n\n\nReserve Your Place
