Workshop Instructor - Raghu Raahi 

Raghuveersingh Rathore, also known as Raghu Raahi, is a passionate traveler who has dedicated himself to exploring various regions of India and Southeast Asia. During his extensive journeys, he discovered his profound interest in natural building techniques and sustainable architecture. Over the past five years, Raghu has actively volunteered at numerous locations, honing his skills and expanding his knowledge in the field of natural building and sustainable architecture.

His pursuit of sustainable architecture led him to Nepal, where he had the opportunity to learn Earthbag dome construction under the guidance of a certified instructor from CalEarth. Equipped with this newfound expertise, Raghu has since constructed a couple of domes in Andhra Pradesh and Pune, showcasing his dedication to creating environmentally friendly and innovative structures.

10-DAY ITINERARY

Day 0, September 15th (or earlier)

Arrival at Vinyasa, Jaipur. Spend one day getting acquainted with everyone and taking a tour of Vinyasa.

Day 1, September 16th

Morning - Introduction to the Earthbag Dome construction site and hands-on experience with soil. Learn the theory and science of earth construction and the earthbag/super adobe technique followed by laying the first bags.

Days 2-5, September 17th-20th

On-site, hands-on training including bag filling, barbed wire installation, and tamping/leveling work. Focus on completing the walls of the earthbag dome. The goal is to finish the walls entirely by the end of this day.

Day 6-7, September 21st-22nd

Rest days. Enjoy alternative activities such as hiking, yoga, and baking pizza in our cob oven.

Day 8-10, September 23rd-25th

Complete the cob plastering of the dome and explore lime plaster samples.

Day 11, September 26th: Final breakfast and departure.
