This proposal should clearly articulate: \n\n\n\n1. Research Topic\n\n\n\n\nWhat is the central question or inquiry?\n\n\n\nWhy is this relevant to your practice and the current moment?\n\n\n\n\n2. Scope & Depth\n\n\n\n\nWhat themes\, mediums\, or approaches will you explore?\n\n\n\nHow will Vinyasa as a space influence or support this inquiry?\n\n\n\n\n3. at Vinyasa functions as a collaborative exchange\, and contributions will be shaped based on the artist’s discipline\, strengths\, and the evolving needs of the space. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhile the exact nature of engagement will be discussed and mutually aligned over a call prior to final selection\, a tentative framework is outlined below: \n\n\n\n\nArtists are expected to offer consistent\, accessible engagements for the community. For example: A yoga practitioner may offer a daily 30-minute open session\, accessible to everyone present at Vinyasa.\n\n\n\nAdditionally\, artists will curate a deeper weekly or weekend offering\, such as:\n\nA 45–60 minute curated session\n\n\n\nA themed workshop or immersive practice\n\n\n\n\n\nThese offerings are intended to build rhythm\, community participation\, and shared experience within the space.\n\n\n\n\nIndependent Offerings & Revenue Sharing\n\n\n\nAs the residency does not include a stipend\, artists are encouraged to design and host their own paid offerings\, such as: \n\n\n\n\nWorkshops\n\n\n\nMasterclasses\n\n\n\nPrivate sessions\n\n\n\nSpecialized experiences\n\n\n\n\nThese will operate on a revenue-sharing model\, with a 60–40 split (Artist–Vinyasa). \n\n\n\nThis structure allows artists to sustain themselves financially while deepening their engagement with their practice and audience. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nResearch Documentation & Submission\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe residency places strong emphasis on rigorous documentation and knowledge creation. \n\n\n\nArtists are required to: \n\n\n\n\nDevelop their research into a well-structured white paper or research document\n\n\n\nMaintain consistent documentation throughout the residency period\n\n\n\nSubmit their work in phases\, aligned with their proposed timeline\n\n\n\n\nDocumentation may include:\n\n\n\n\nWritten reflections and analytical notes\n\n\n\nProcess journals\n\n\n\nVisual documentation (photo/video)\n\n\n\nInterviews\, observations\, or community interactions\n\n\n\nPractice-based insights and findings\n\n\n\n\nFinal Submission Format\n\n\n\nThe final output must take the form of a comprehensive research document\, clearly articulating: \n\n\n\n\nResearch intent and context\n\n\n\nMethodology and process\n\n\n\nKey observations and learnings\n\n\n\nEvolution of practice\n\n\n\nFinal outcomes or propositions\n\n\n\n\nThis document will become part of the Vinyasa Archive\, contributing to a growing body of practice-led research emerging from the space. \n\n\n\nApply\nApply for the SUMMARY:Open Studio Exchange Week
DESCRIPTION:5 Days • 10 Artists • Learn Together. Facilitate Confidently. Earn Through Workshop Passes. \n\n\n\nA five-day gathering for artists who want to explore facilitation\, exchange skills\, and learn directly from fellow practitioners. Each participating artist offers one workshop from their practice and gains access to nine others—creating a week of collaborative learning\, experimentation\, and community living at Vinyasa Earth.Whether you’re a dancer\, musician\, visual artist\, writer\, filmmaker\, craftsperson\, designer\, theatre-maker\, facilitator\, or multidisciplinary creator\, this is an opportunity to step into both roles: teacher and student. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Idea\n\n\n\nMost artists spend years refining their craft. Far fewer get the opportunity to refine how they share that craft with others. \n\n\n\nOpen Studio Exchange Week is a space for artists who are curious about facilitation\, workshop design\, community building\, and creating meaningful experiences around their practice. \n\n\n\nFor five days\, ten artists come together to live\, learn\, teach\, and exchange perspectives. Each artist facilitates one workshop while participating in the workshops offered by the other artists in the cohort. \n\n\n\nThe result is a unique environment where artists not only receive feedback on their work but also witness nine different ways of holding space\, structuring experiences\, and engaging participants. \n\n\n\nYou may arrive with one way of conducting a workshop. You may leave with ten. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhy This Exchange Matters\n\n\n\nWorkshops are becoming an increasingly important way for artists to share their practice\, build communities\, and generate income. Yet many artists rarely receive the opportunity to observe how others facilitate\, communicate\, curate experiences\, and engage participants. This week is designed to change that. \n\n\n\nBy living alongside fellow artists and participating in their sessions\, you’ll gain exposure to different facilitation styles\, teaching approaches\, creative methodologies\, and audience engagement techniques. \n\n\n\nThink of these five days as a laboratory for artistic facilitation. \n\n\n\nA space to: \n\n\n\n\nExplore workshop design\n\n\n\nReceive feedback from fellow artists\n\n\n\nGain confidence in holding space\n\n\n\nObserve how others facilitate\n\n\n\nExperiment with new ideas\n\n\n\nReignite enthusiasm for sharing your work\n\n\n\nBuild meaningful artistic relationships\n\n\n\n\nYou may leave with testimonials. You may leave with workshop earnings. Most importantly\, you’ll leave with a wider understanding of how your practice can be shared with others. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow It Works\n\n\n\n\n10 artists are selected for the exchange.\n\n\n\nThe exchange runs for 5 days at Vinyasa Earth.\n\n\n\nEvery facilitating artist conducts one workshop.\n\n\n\nFacilitating artists receive access to all workshops during the week.\n\n\n\nWorkshops are opened to the public through Workshop Passes.\n\n\n\nVinyasa Earth provides space\, logistics\, marketing\, and ticketing support.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho Is This For?\n\n\n\nThis exchange is ideal for: \n\n\n\n\nDancers\n\n\n\nMusicians\n\n\n\nWriters\n\n\n\nTheatre-makers\n\n\n\nVisual artists\n\n\n\nFilmmakers\n\n\n\nDesigners\n\n\n\nCraftspeople\n\n\n\nMovement practitioners\n\n\n\nFacilitators\n\n\n\nMultidisciplinary creators\n\n\n\n\nYou do not need prior workshop facilitation experience. \n\n\n\nIf you have a practice\, process\, perspective\, or methodology that could benefit others\, you are welcome to apply. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtist Facilitator\n\n\n\n₹7\,400/- + taxes\n\n\n\nThe actual cost of staying at Vinyasa Earth with accommodation and meals is significantly higher.
