Residencies create this possibility. By stepping away from daily responsibilities and the rhythm of city life, artists enter an environment where the practical aspects of living are simplified and the mind can shift from survival to creation.

Residencies are intentionally small to ensure meaningful engagement among participants. Applications are reviewed thoughtfully, often through conversations that allow artists to share more about their practice and the questions guiding their work.

Why Residencies Matter
Residencies offer uninterrupted time for research, experimentation, and reflection. Many artists use this period to begin new bodies of work, explore unfamiliar ideas, or rethink the direction of their practice.
Equally important is the exchange that happens between artists. Conversations, studio visits, and shared experiences often reveal new perspectives that continue shaping artistic journeys long after the residency ends.
Why Jaipur
Jaipur has long been one of India’s great centers of artistic production. The city is home to traditions such as block printing, miniature painting, gemstone carving, and marble work, many of which are still practiced today by communities of master artisans.
At the same time, Jaipur has emerged as a growing cultural hub where contemporary art, design, and traditional craft practices intersect. This coexistence of heritage and experimentation creates a rich landscape for artistic research and inspiration.
Why Vinyasa Earth
Vinyasa Earth offers the environment within it where artists can immerse themselves fully in their practice. Located close to the city yet surrounded by nature, Vinyasa Earth provides a setting that balances inspiration with retreat.
The space has been hosting residential artistic experiences for over five years and has been curating dedicated residency programs for the past two years. Artists from diverse disciplines — including dance, visual arts, performance, writing, and interdisciplinary practices — have come together here to explore their work in a shared environment.
Rather than focusing solely on finished outcomes, residencies at Vinyasa Earth emphasize artistic process, curiosity, and exchange.

Sinha Danse
A Canadian Dance Company researched movement at Vinyasa for over a month with 8 Indo-canadian artists. The created a performance ‘Asthir’ which was premiered at Rajasthan International centre.
WomenEver
A European Dance Company led by a duo, held a residency (audition based) for 2 weeks to intensively share their contemporary practices with Indian Dancers
Be Embodied
A 14 day teacher training course for therapeutic massage with credible certifications which was open for all.
