JOIN THE COMMUNITY

Volunteer at Vinyasa

This is more than a place to volunteer.

It’s a space to pause, reconnect, and contribute to a growing ecosystem built on trust, beauty, and belonging.

Two Ways to Volunteer

Choose the path that fits your journey – contribute through community living,
or exchange your craft for an extended stay.

Community Volunteering

Skill-Based Exchange

Our Vision: Art, Earth & Belonging

To cultivate a space where art, community, and nature converge.

This is a place where creativity isn’t a performance — it’s a practice. Mud walls hold space for movement, words, colour, and sound, and many artists have led their first-ever workshops right here with us.

🌱 We live with the land.

From growing our food, making compost, and planting trees with purpose, every action is intentional. Solar panels and rainwater systems are on the way, but the shift has already begun, one footprint, one saved raindrop at a time.

Our Mission – To nurture a mindful community rooted in simplicity, creativity, and mutual support.

Whether you’re tending to the garden, helping host an artist’s workshop, or sharing quiet moments after dinner, your presence here makes a difference.

This is intentional living in action — where your time, energy, and heart find a place to belong.

Living Gently Together: Our Shared Promise

At Vinyasa, we don’t have “rules.” We have promises to each other and the land:

  • Breathe Mindfully: Be present – in work, rest, and connection.
  • Keep it Clear: Our space is free of alcohol, smoking, and drugs.
  • Cherish Our Home: Tidy shared spaces, handle tools with love, leave beauty wherever you go.
  • Honour Quiet: After 10 PM, we wrap the land in stillness. Mornings are for soft footsteps and inner journeys.
  • Shared Responsibilities: Everyone chips in – gardening, chores, welcoming guests. These rhythms bind us.
  • Kindness is Sacred: To people, animals, plants, and yourself. Judgment stays at the gate.
  • Speak Your Heart: We are always here, ears and hearts open.

We gently hold these promises sacred. If they’re not honoured, we may need to part ways for the community’s well-being.

“Volunteering at Vinyasa wasn’t work; it was remembering how to live.”

– Neha Thirani (a past volunteer)

Wondering About Something? We’ve Got You.

Can international volunteers apply for skill based program?

Yes! If you’re committing to the resposibility, we’re happy to waive the daily contribution in exchange for a deeper skill-based engagement. This includes roles like content, social media, photography, or helping with events and guest experiences. Just share your interest when you apply.

Do I need prior experience to volunteer?

Not at all. Come with curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to learn. Whether you’re new to gardening or community living, there’s a space here for you.

What’s the accommodation like?

Volunteers stay in our community dorms, simple, cosy, and rooted in nature. It’s shared living with shared care: you’ll help keep the space clean, beautiful, and welcoming for everyone.

Can I volunteer as an artist and also help with other tasks?

Absolutely. Many artist-volunteers contribute creatively while also joining in daily rhythms — from cooking to composting. It’s all part of co-creating this living space.

Is there Wi-Fi or a mobile network at Vinyasa?

Yes, we have 5G Fibre Wi-Fi and mobile network access (Jio and Airtel work best). But many volunteers use this time to unplug, slow down, and reconnect with themselves.

I have dietary preferences — will that be okay?

We serve fresh, home-cooked vegetarian meals. If you have specific needs or allergies, just let us know. We’ll do our best to support you.
