Artist Unite – A residency of self creation

Most artists spend a large part of their creative lives working within their own practice. A dancer rehearses in a studio. A painter spends hours with a canvas. A theatre-maker develops an idea with a small group. We meet other artists at performances, exhibitions and festivalsโbut rarely do we get to experience how they actually live and create.
Artist Unite is a ten-day interdisciplinary residency built around that experience.
Artists from different disciplines come together to live, create, exchange practices and experience what it feels like to be part of an artistic community.
There are no masterclasses here.
Instead, resident artists open up their practices to one another. A painter might invite you into the way they observe. A dancer might share how they begin creating movement. A theatre artist might introduce a game they use to discover characters. A visual artist might take everyone outdoors to collect, arrange or respond to materials.
You don’t need to belong to that discipline to participate.
The intention isn’t to teach everyone how to paint, dance or perform. It is to experience how another artist thinks through their art.
The Rhythm of Artist Unite
Each day has only two facilitated spaces.
The day begins with a shared morning stretch, followed by an Artist Process Session at 7:30 AM, where one of the resident artists shares an aspect of their creative practice.
After breakfast, the day opens up.
The afternoons are deliberately kept free for self-creation.
Bring an idea you’ve been wanting to explore. Continue an existing work. Start something entirely new. Rehearse, paint, write, build, research, experimentโor find another artist whose practice makes you curious and create something together.
At 6:30 PM, we gather again for another shared practice, experiment, conversation or interdisciplinary exchange.
Dinner is followed by a closing circle, and some nights may simply continue into conversations, music and spontaneous jams.
The structure is intentionally light because Artist Unite isn’t designed to keep artists busy. It is designed to give artists space.
Life Between the Sessions
Perhaps the most important part of Artist Unite is everything that isn’t scheduled.
Having breakfast beside someone whose artistic language is completely different from yours.
Walking past a rehearsal and stopping to watch.
Seeing a painting evolve over several days.
Helping somebody build an installation.
Discussing an unfinished idea over dinner.
Finding yourself collaborating with someone you hadn’t planned to work with.
For ten days, art isn’t something you travel somewhere to see.
It is simply happening around you.
That is what we mean by living inside an artistic community.
And Then, We Build Zariya.
The final day of Artist Unite is Zariya โ 24 October 2026.
Over the course of the residency, Vinyasa gradually transforms from a home for artists into a festival created by them.
Performances begin taking shape.
Artworks find their spaces.
Installations appear.
Collaborations emerge.
Corners of Vinyasa begin becoming stages, galleries and experiences.
As a resident artist, you don’t just arrive at Zariya to perform or exhibit.
You experience how an entire festival comes alive through a community of artistsโand you become part of it.
Artists will have the opportunity to present their work at Zariya through performances, exhibitions, installations, interdisciplinary works or other forms appropriate to their practice.
Who Is Artist Unite For?
Artist Unite is open to artists across disciplinesโdancers, painters, theatre-makers, visual artists, musicians, sculptors, photographers, filmmakers, writers, performance artists and interdisciplinary practitioners.
You might come because you want ten days dedicated to creating something.
You might come because you want to present your work at Zariya.
You might come because you’re curious about other artistic practices.
Or you might simply want to know:
What happens when artists from completely different worlds live together for ten days?
