The Mountains and The Dunes – An Evening of Folk Jamming

Step into an evening where music becomes a bridge between landscapes, cultures, and stories.The Mountains and The Dunes brings together two soulful artists – one from the desert, the other from the mountains – in a unique session of traditional folk songs.

Each song carries tales of the land, people, and spirit it comes from. The artists will not only perform but also share the meaning, history, and emotions behind these songs, giving the audience a chance to connect deeply with the roots of their music.

This one-evening gathering is not just a concert—it is an experience of listening, sharing, and being present in community.

The Artists 

Diggpal Rathore is a versatile singer, songwriter, composer, and actor hailing from the culturally rich Barmer district of Rajasthan. Known for his unique blend of Hindi originals, Rajasthani folk, and Sufi music, Diggpal’s musical journey also includes performances of mystic poets like Kabir, Meera Bai, Bulleshah, Shah Abdul Latif, Shiv Kumar Batalvi, and Urdu Ghazals.

Shreya Guleria is a versatile vocalist hailing from the serene landscapes of Himachal Pradesh. Rooted in the semi-classical and folk traditions of Himachal, Rajasthan, and other regions of India, her music weaves together the essence of diverse cultures and sounds. Born and brought up in Himachal, Shreya carries the soulful charm of the hills into her performances, creating a bridge between tradition and contemporary expression.

• 5:00 PM – Arrival & Opening Circle

• 6:30 PM – Tea & Conversation Break
  A pause for light refreshments, where guests can mingle, share reflections, and meet the artists.

• 7:00 – 9:00 PM – Jam Session: Mountains Meet the Dunes
  The two artists come together in an improvised dialogue of music. The desert’s earthy rhythms and the mountain’s soaring tunes blend into a one-of-a-kind performance.

• 9 PM –  Closing Circle
  The evening ends as it began—in a circle. Guests and artists share closing thoughts, gratitude, and reflections before parting ways.

• 10:00 PM – Departure
