Elemental Showcase – मैं हूँ

For her final showcase as an artist, Pragati decided upon a short storytelling narrative titled ‘मैं हूँ’ (which loosely translates to ‘I am’). 

She initially chose air as her element, which during the course of 10 days in the residency took the shape of the concept of ‘interconnectedness of everything’ both in a physical and spiritual sense. Combining her own experiences as well as the journeys of the artists around her, during the last two days of residency, she set out to independently explore what the forests were trying to tell her.

Her final piece talks about the journey of an individual who has set out on the path and soon comes across a forest spirit asking, “Where do they want to go?” And during the quest of trying to comprehend where the path leads, the traveller finally realises that all paths lead back to their own self. In essence, the universe is within us, and each being is the entire universe.
