About the Artist
Rohit’s body of work is a humble endeavour to celebrate people and cultures,
and their evolving relationships with the world around them.
Rohit is a Bengaluru based visual artist who prefers creating art and building narratives the old-fashioned way – with pen, paper and lived experiences.
A considerable part of his thought process is derived from indigenous mythologies, folk tales and local belief systems. He would like to believe his practice is about viewing the ancient through a contemporary lens and vice versa, which makes for a lot of humour and critical introspection. Some of his most frequent collaborations are with storytellers, classical dancers and theatre performers, for whom he has been privileged to create physical art pieces, print and digital collateral, and wall art for their workspaces. The human body in all its beauty and imperfections, and the human mind with all its potential for creation and destruction, remain his greatest muses.
