About the Role
Garden Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and care of company gardens, including planting, watering, weeding, and pruning. Help keep garden areas clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing.
Plant Care: Monitor the health and growth of plants, flowers, and herbs. Identify and address any issues related to pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies. Implement organic gardening practices to promote plant health and vitality.
Harvesting and Yield
Optimization: Participate in harvesting produce and herbs from the garden. Help ensure timely harvesting to maximize yield and freshness. Assist in sorting, cleaning, and preparing harvested items for use or distribution.
Composting: Support composting efforts by collecting organic waste materials and adding them to compost bins or piles. Monitor composting process, turn compost, and maintain proper moisture and aeration levels to facilitate decomposition.
Educational Outreach: Engage with visitors, employees, and community members to promote environmental education and awareness through gardening activities. Share knowledge about sustainable gardening practices, composting, and plant care.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Passion for Gardening: Genuine interest in gardening, horticulture, and environmental stewardship.
Physical Fitness: Ability to perform tasks requiring physical exertion, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to fulfilling volunteer responsibilities.
Permaculture: Knowledge of Permaculture is a bonus Compensation:
Food Allowance: Access to complimentary meals provided by Vinyasa Earth during working hours.
Accommodation: Shared accommodation in company-provided housing (if applicable) for the duration of the internship.
Additional Information:
This is an unpaid volunteer position.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about sustainable gardening practices and contribute to the creation of green spaces within the community.
Flexible scheduling allows volunteers to contribute according to their availability and commitments.
